Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve tried to answer all the burning questions about Extreme Adventure’s activities. However if we’ve missed anything, or you’d like to know more about us, our mobile high ropes courses or other climbing activities please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Who can do it?

Extreme Adventure’s activities are always a big hit with adults, children, families, individuals, groups, schools and companies. All you need is a little thirst to try something new and to be prepared to challenge yourself – and have fun! However please take into consideration that all our activities are physical and if you have any concerns about medical conditions then please contact us.

The following restrictions apply to all Extreme Adventure activities:

  • Minimum height –1.1m (3’7”) High Ropes Course & o.95m (3’1”) for Spider Mountain
  • Maximum weight –120Kg (19 stone) for both activities

What if I fall?

Before you start the High Ropes course you will be issued with a harness and will be clipped on to the Safety Rail. You remain attached to this throughout your Extreme Adventure, there is no need to clip and unclip yourself to each element of the course. Slips are quite common but don’t worry, that’s half the fun! If you lose your footing, then your safety line will prevent you from falling, and you will be able to get back on and continue. On our Spider Mountain the elasticated webs will stop you from falling.

Do I need to be fit?

You do need a level of physical fitness but all our activities are probably easier than you might think. You might be pleased to know that it is very rare for a person to stop because they weren’t fit enough. Please see our minimum height and weight restrictions.

But I’m afraid of heights!

All our activities are designed to help you build your confidence as you progress. We also have many different courses we can set which we can discuss with organiser before the event. It is very rare for someone to leave the course because they are afraid. Also we have a special evacuation plan should somebody just freeze whilst doing the course. Beating your fears is one of the most exhilarating things you can do. Also our trained Adventure Instructors are always on hand to give advice and encouragement.

What should I wear?

Well it’s all common sense really, we advise that clogs and stilettos are not used !! The best footwear would be trainers or any ankle supporting shoe. We do not allow sandals or flip flops. We would also recommend not wearing a tie or a skirt but casual clothes such a tee shirt and jeans. On our Spider Mountain footwear must be removed before entering the activity. Another suggestion would be to bring a spare set of clothes as you are likely to work up a sweat!!!

Do we need to book in advance?

All of our activities are very popular from March through to November, and particularly in the summer months. We strongly recommend that you book well in advance to avoid disappointment. We ask for a minimum 50% deposit at the time of booking with the balance due one month before the booked date.
